Meet Navi the Whale

Navi is a lwb 2017 Mercedes Sprinter van, which we found on a German used car platform. When we saw her in person for the first time, we immediately knew she was the right van for us. Apart from having driven over 200.000km she was absolutely perfect, and exactly what we were looking for. Within 48 hours we bought her and slowly began the conversion. We thought we would have her finished within a couple of months, but in the end it took us a year, because we had to work all the while to pay for all the expenses. We basically did the whole build ourselves, but occasionally received help from Lenny's father.

So what did we build in? We have a toilet, oven, fridge and fan. For heating we built in a gas-heater, which also heats up our tap water. Our solar panels generate tons of electricity, to get us through working days. We built in an adjustable bedframe that can be tilted, so our bed turns into a nice lounging area, which is where Tanja does most of her work. And we can lift it from the other side too and access the department under the bed, which is where we store our dining/office table. We mounted a wide screen monitor to create a comfortable office space for Lenny, but it also reaches all the way around to the bed, for movie-nights. When we work or need some alone time we use the curtain to turn our one room apartment into a duplex.
