One of the Mercedes Sprinter design flaws are the trim holes that hold the side panels. These are not sealed, and the wax layer that has been applied to the inside of the body, is too thin. This results in water running through these holes and eventually rust will come, if you don’t do anything about it. 🙄
We decided that we might as well foil wrap the vans lower part, before sealing off the trim holes. Our friend Thomas has experience with foiling vehicles and kindly agreed to help us out. After he worked his magic we cleaned every clip with acetone and applied "Sikaflex 521" UV sealing compound, before refitting the side panels.
